Tactiles

Hazard & Directional

NITO Tactiles are divided into two varieties - directional and hazard - designed to impart important safety information to the vision impaired pedestrian.

Directional tactiles with their raised strip inform of the safe direction to follow. Raised dot hazard tactiles warn of a change of direction or impending danger. Tactiles are used in footpaths at road junctions, at stair wells, door openings and railway platforms. The colour contrast in wet and dry conditions, is vitally important to the pedestrian who has vision impairment.
